Troop 219
A Scouts BSA Troop in the South Bay
(Los Angeles) for girls ages 11-17.
Scouts BSA
The Scout BSA program is for youth who are 11 and/or in sixth grade, or youth who have bridged up from the Cub Scout Program. In February of 2019, the Boy Scouts of America opened up the “Scout BSA” program for females.  Troop 219 of El Segundo started as a Scouts BSA troop for girls shortly thereafter.  The Scout BSA program is the same program that has existed for years as “Boy Scouts” – and includes scouting skills, outdoor adventures, leadership skills, and rank advancements from Scout to Eagle.
Adventures
We camp. We hike. We backpack.

Scouting trains youth to be leaders, so in Troop 219 our goal is to schedule activities and adventures with the youth based on what they want to explore.  Being in Southern California, we have lots of opportunities from the ocean, to the mountains, to the desert — and we can’t wait to see all that these youth can accomplish!

Regular troop meetings are on Sunday Evenings on Zoom (until it is safe once again to meet at the El Segundo Scout House.)
Email info at 219troop dot com if you want to check out a meeting

Gathering starts at 6:15pm, with meetings
running from 6:30-8:00 pm.

The Program

Scouts BSA is a volunteer-run program.

Adults can help by participating in the Parent Committee, which kind of serves as the board of directors for the troop. Parent committee meetings usually occur on the first Sunday of the month, concurrent with the troop meeting. All participating adults must complete YPT (youth protection training) and undergo the BSA background check.
